Recorded from the plantations on the dune-systems about Formby and Ainsdale for Travis's Flora (1963) with severeal additional records up to 1985. There is the recent photographic record from Hesketh Park (SD3418, PS Gateley, 2010).
This subspecies is probably under-recorded and more widespread that the above distribution map indicates. Further studies at the intraspecific level are to be encouraged.
