Widely planted and remaining established as at Daisy Hill Station and the adjoining wooded clough (SD6504).

Habitat:
Ornamental parks, woods and railway banks.

Comments:
Neophyte, known to be under-recorded and likely to be included within some of the records for Rhododendron ponticum.
