Distribution:
Occasional, mainly in the east, appears to be increasing.
Habitat:
A relic of cultivation in ornamental woods but known to be self-sown on wooded
railway banks and developing heaths.
Comments:
Neophyte, this shrub is native to Eastern Europe and western Asia. The earliest
record traced is from (SD71, c. 1970) with an additional record from Healey
Hell (SD8716 A Marshall, 1975).
