Distribution:
Cuerden Valley Park (SD52S, CS Crook, 1996); Hurstwood (SD83V, DP Earl & J Earl, 2003); by the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, Rimrose Valley (SJ39J, Liverpool Botanical Society Exc., 2004); Sunnyhurst Wood (SD6823, DP Earl & J Earl, 2009); Scutcher's Wood, Lathom (SD4510, West Lancashire Wildlife Bioblitz, 2011); Belthorn (SD7124, DP Earl & J Earl, 2011). There is an unlocalised record from SD60 (South Lancashire Flora Project, c. 1999).

Former distribution: Long known from a sandstone outcrop at Dingle but lost to development in the early 1900’s. Introduced at Halsnead Park Bird Sanctuary (SJ48U, E Hardy, 1940); Rivington Gardens (SD6413, 1986); Salthill Quarry (SD7542, 1991). Habitat: Amenity plantings.

Comments:
The modern day records are plantings. Considered planted at Dingle, but was perhaps once truly wild as trees are known from wooded banks along the Mersey in Cheshire.
