Tilia tomentosa Moench. - Silver Lime

Distribution:
Occasionally planted in towns and cities sometimes as avenues as along the A59 at Lower Penwortham (SD5228).

Habitat:
Parks and street tree plantings.

Comments:
Neophyte, native to south-eastern Europe. This taxon is possibly confused with Tilia ‘Petiolaris’ (Pendent Silver-lime) which has been recorded from Ormskirk (SD40E, PS Gateley, 1997) and is probably the identity of the plant photographed near Chorley.
